Christina R. Talley, CPA
Christina offers the community two decades of experience in
both public accounting and accounting for various industries,
including the medical field. She has been employed in both
large and small environments and currently focuses on the
needs of small to medium sized businesses and individuals.
Christina Talley earned her Arizona CPA license in 2000, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Binghamton University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Arizona State University. Christina is also a member of the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA), the Arizona Society of CPA's (ASCPA) and both the Flagstaff and Kingman Chambers of Commerce.
Prior to forming TalleyGold, Christina's accounting and industrial experience included employment at a global accounting firm, a foreign-owned energy company, a short-haul trucking company, an international financial services firm, a city hospital and a rural urgent care facility.
Joanne (Jo) Shute
Jo is a native Arizonan and grew up here in Northern Arizona, graduating from Grand Canyon High School and Northern Arizona University.She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NAU and worked for many years as a Civil Engineer on the Coconino National Forest. She found her way to Accounting after taking many years away from the workforce to be a stay-at-home homeschooling mom.
After discovering a love for the accounting process, Jo has become the payroll specialist and client relations coordinator for our firm. She really enjoys the mix of nerdy, precise data work and collaborative, client-centered business services.
Jo is a Christian and is an active member at her local church. She enjoys reading and cooking and spending time with her adult children and grandchildren when at home, but she loves most to be out in the outdoors of the American west and the Colorado Plateau – the most beautiful parts of the world!
Lorin Wilson, MBA
Before becoming an accountant, Lorin was a fitness instructor for 10 years in Austin, Texas. During this time, he founded a company which provided on-site fitness classes for the Austin Independent School District, TX Dot Transportation employees, and various senior homes in Austin. In addition to operating his company, Lorin worked as a gait (running/walking) biomechanics specialist and was heavily involved in various non-profits in Austin. These non-profits focused on protecting the environment, access to education, and providing free fitness classes for individuals with Parkinson’s and their care-givers through the non-profit, Power for Parkinson’s.
Lorin also has experience at an international accounting firm where he worked on engagements for clients in the oil and gas industry. He prefers working with small to medium sized businesses as there is more personal interaction and a community feel.
Lorin holds a B.S in Exercise Science from The University of Texas at Austin as well as a MBA from Texas State University. While obtaining his MBA from Texas State, he was rewarded the “Future Texas Business Legend” scholarship as one of the top entrepreneurial business students in Texas. Lorin is currently qualified to sit for the CPA exam and is studying to pass the four sections.
In addition to his formal degrees, Lorin earned a graduate certificate from Harvard Business School passing their “CORE” program with High Honors (top 5% of students in the program). The “CORE” program is a 150-hour graduate certificate program from Harvard Business School comprised of three courses – Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting.
Lorin also holds numerous fitness training certifications, including his Yoga teaching certificate, which he earned in Rishikesh, India.
Lorin loves being active outside. His favorite activity is running or hiking with his friends, however, he also loves to mountain bike, boulder, and to shoot his Hoyt Bow. Lorin loves to drink coffee, read books, chat with friends, camp, act silly, eat pizza, travel, and most of all, volunteer.
Dakota comes from a small town in Northeast Arizona where she graduated high school as a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Body president. She grew up fishing, shooting, and camping with her family, participating in Little League Softball, AYSO soccer, Girl Scouts, and 4H as a youngster. Just living the small town rural Americana lifestyle. She’s worked in just about every field a rural gal can, from fast food to convenience stores, to power plants.
Dakota graduated from Northern Arizona University a semester early in 2020 with a B.S. in Accountancy and has worked for TalleyGold since the summer of 2021. In her spare time between tax seasons, Dakota enjoys escape rooms, hunting dove with her mom, spending time exploring new restaurants and traveling.
Anely previously worked in the financial industry at a Wealth Management Firm in Scottsdale, AZ as well as project management in the construction industry here in Flagstaff, AZ.She feels inclined to assist small business owners as she feels that’s what the backbone of our community is.
Anely has a B.S. in Business Administration from Arizona Christian University including a minor in biblical studies. While attending ACU she was also a 4 year student athlete. While studying at ACU she had multiple internships in both development and tech fields based in Scottsdale, AZ. After earning her degree she then obtained a fellowship abroad in Barcelona, Spain with The Beacon Fellowship for Business Consulting.
Anely is a third generation Flagstaff-ian having deeps roots in this community. She is a nature and coffee fanatic. Her favorite activities include hiking with friends or family, watching Steelers football and traveling. A lover of dogs and of course supporting small business around the community #shoplocal. She’s always up for an adventure and learning from every experience that comes her way.
